Ben Henderson vs Eddie Alvarez Added To Boston Card
Ben Henderson vs Eddie Alvarez serves as the co-main event at UFC Fight Night 59….
Former major champions Eddie Alvarez and Benson Henderson hit bumps in their respective careers lately, as they found themselves on the losing end of fights with top guys. For “The Silent Assassin”, his promotional debut at UFC 178 was an unsuccessful decision against the surging Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
“Smooth” got himself thoroughly starched by Rafael Dos Anjos, snapping his two-fight streak and marking the first time Henderson had been knocked out. Amidst a very busy couple of days for Joe Silva, the two have been slated to meet in Boston this coming January 18th. Conor McGregor vs Dennis Siver is the headlining bout for UFC Fight Night 59.
Styles make fights, and I’m not sure how this one will turn out. “Smooth” will hopefully come out blasting and make this one a scrap as much as Alvarez will. His complacency against RDA will wind up getting him knocked out again, especially against the former Bellator kingpin and renowned striker EA.
