Yesterday the sport of MMA was thrown into upheaval when it was revealed that former UFC champion TJ Dillashaw had been suspended two years by USADA.

‘The Viper’ tested positive for EPO, a banned substance that is only injectable. Not surprisingly, MMA social media went off on the finding. Dillashaw’s longtime rival Cody Garbrandt justifiably released a classic Twitter rant. And Conor McGregor seemed to take his side with a post containing high praise for “No Love.”

Dillashaw’s coaches then attempted to support their fighter during a time when it was tough to do so. With the story a hot topic in MMA this week, another big name in the sport decided to take a more light-hearted approach in his response.

UFC welterweight Ben Askren, who’s often poked fun at for his ‘dad bod,’ tweeted a subtle dig at Dillashaw today:

Askren had made his opinion of every newsworthy topic in MMA known on social media ever since he was traded from ONE Championship last year.

‘Funky’ made a very controversial UFC debut by submitting Robbie Lawler at March’s UFC 235. He’ll now move on to face Jorge Masvidal on the main card of July’s packed UFC 239 from Las Vegas.

Just don’t count on him running into any issues with USADA when he does.
