Ben Askren & Jorge Masvidal Verbally Agree To Fight Each Other

Ben Askren Masvidal

Ben Askren & Jorge Masvidal have reportedly verbally agreed to fight each other inside of the Octagon. The two UFC stars have been exchanging words as of late. That has apparently lead to a fight.

On Friday, ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reported that they have agreed to a fight. Of course, a contract to make it official must be signed. Helwani wrote the following about the news:

“Jorge Masvidal has verbally agreed to fight Ben Askren on July 6 in Las Vegas, according to sources. UFC wanted June 8 but that date didn’t work for Masvidal. Askren tells me that date works for him, too. Hoping to finalize it shortly.”

Askren scored a controversial submission win over former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler at the UFC 235 pay-per-view event. This marked his promotional debut.

The UFC 239 pay-per-view event is set to take place on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will air on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET. The preliminary card will air on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET and the UFC’s streaming service, Fight Pass.
