Bellator 69 Results: Falcao to face Shlemenko, Amoussou to fight Baker, and an upset for Fujii

This Friday night Bellator 69 took place in L’Auberge Casino Resort, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Maiquel Falcao beat Andreas Spang and will fight Alexander Shlemenko to crown the company’s new Middleweight champion. In a fist-to-fist toe to toe Welterweight battle, and despite an eye-poke, broken jockstrap and 2 groin shots, Karl Amoussou defeated David Rickels by split decision and will go on to face Brian Baker.

In the women’s bout, Jessica Aguilar defeated Megumi Fujii, who was ranked Number 1 in the female 115 lb division, by Unanimous Decision. Fujii announced that she would be putting her MMA career on hold at the close of the fight.

On the undercard, Mark Holata earned a place in Bellator‘s Season Six Heavyweight Tournament later this year after submitting Dave Wagner. Shanon Slack defeated Booker Arthur by unanimous Decision, moving up to 4-0 in the rankings. Andrey Koreshkov maintained his unblemished record by defeating Derrick Krantz at 0:51 in Round 3 by TKO.
