Bellator 175 Results: King Mo Decisions Rampage Jackson
It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Fri., March 31, 2017) came in the form of Bellator 175 from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (37-11) and Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (20-6, 1 NC) met in the main event. In round 1, after two minutes of having a feeling out process, Lawal scored a takedown. Jackson got to his feet but Lawal stayed on him in the clinch and worked him over with strikes. Lawal scored a takedown near the end of the round. Jackson got up to his feet with seconds left to close the round.
In round 2, Lawal clinched with him up against the fence and worked him over with strikes. Jackson separated for a moment and landed some shots but Lawal clinched with him again. Jackson scored a takedown with just seconds left in the round and landed some right hands. In round 3, they clinched throughout the round and did some dirty boxing. This one went the distance and the judges gave the win to Lawal by unanimous decision.
Emmanuel Sanchez (14-3) and Marcos Galvao (18-7-1) met in the featherweight co-main event. In round 1, they had a feeling out process early. Galvao continues to look for takedowns throughout this round but couldn’t. They exchanged to the bell.In round 2, Sanchez was looking to counter strike and did some, which ended up letting him win the round. Sanchez scored a brief trip takedown near the end of the round. Galvao was pressing forward throughout the round but couldn’t find his marks. In round 3, Sanchez continued to press and stuffed takedowns. The judges gave Sanchez the decision win.
Sergei Kharitonov (23-6) vs. Chase Gormley (14-5) was next in a heavyweight bout. They had a feeling out process early. Kharitonov clinched with him and hit him with a knee strike. Gormley started landing some good jabs and boxed him up. Kharitonov landed a right hand then an uppercut to shut off Gormley’s lights.
Noad Lahat (10-2) and Lloyd Carter (10-8) in a featherweight bout was up next. In round 1, they clinch right away but then separated. Carter stunned him with a clean jab. Lahat scored a takedown halfway through the round and landed some ground and pound from half guard. Lahat went for a side choke with less than a minute to go but let it go and landed strikes to end the round. In round 2, after having a feeling out process, Lahat scored a takedown and got back mount while looking for a rear-naked choke. Carter reversed it. Lahat scrambled and locked in the rear-naked choke for the win.
Opening the main card on Spike TV is Steve Kozola (7-0) vs. Jake Roberts (7-1) in a lightweight bout. Kozola dropped him right out of the gate with a left hand but Roberts stood up and was blitzed by more strikes, which finished the fight.
