Bas Rutten: Jon Jones Is A Dirty Fighter

Former UFC heavyweight champion Bas Rutten thinks Jon Jones is a dirty fighter who “knows exactly what he is doing.

“Bones” has received criticism throughout his career, being labeled as a “dirty fighter” for certain tactics which he uses inside the cage. One of the most common techniques which the champ uses is when he extends his arm putting his hand on his opponents face; often resulting in the fighter getting poked in the eye.

According to Rutten, who appeared as a guest on Inside MMA earlier this week, Jones knows exactly what he is doing when this happens and that’s why he thinks the 26-year old is dirty:

He is a very calm, relaxed and methodical fighter,” Rutten said. “Because of that, I am sorry that I have to say: yes, he is a dirty fighter. Maybe he was looking down when he pushed the fingers in the eye. I didn’t check that. But he knows exactly what he is doing at any given time, and his fingers were definitely in his face. For a long time he was constantly rubbing them in the face.”

That’s some bold words from the MMA legend. Do you agree with him?
