UFC middleweight contender Michael Bisping recently scored the biggest victory of his storied career. Facing Anderson Silva in the recent UFC Fight Night 84 main event, very few were giving ‘The Count’ a chance of beating the former middleweight champion. As it turned out, they were all wrong. Although he was nearly knocked out at one point in the fight, Bisping put in an impressive and typically gritty performance against ‘The Spider,’ and took the judge’s decision after five rounds.

Finally, after years of toiling in or around the top contender spot, the fruits of Michael Bisping‘s labour were starting to be seen. During a recent appearance with Bas Rutten and Kenny Rice on AXS Inside MMA, ‘The Count’ took some time to recap what was a glorious night in front of home fans in England on February 27, but not before pulling off an April fool’s prank for the viewers.

Bisping has been featured in rumours connecting him to a bout with Nick Diaz, but it’s clear what he wants after 25 fights in the UFC. A title shot is obviously the target for the British brawler, but will he be competition enough for Luke Rockhold or Chris Weidman? He looked sloppy in comparison to ‘Rocky’ the first time they fought, and the AKA star has gone on to finish Chris Weidman and capture the title since then.

It would be great to see the Ultimate Fighter veteran go on to fight for, or possibly even win a UFC belt. Although he would be up against the odds, he was against Anderson Silva too, and look how that turned out.
