Artem Lobov: Conor McGregor Still Trains At SBG

Conor McGregor

Irish superstar Conor McGregor is still a member of Straight Blast gym according to his close friend and training partner Artem Lobov.

Despite McGregor being on a whirlwind tour in the states for the promotion of his new whiskey, Proper Twelve, he is still finding time to stay in fight shape. However, he is doing so at South Florida’s American Top Team.

But according to Lobov, it’s all good (via BJPenn.com):

“No, Conor is still with us, we are all still a part of SBG. The thing is that many of the SBG fighters that have kind of retired now or whatever, they have opened their own SBG gyms. So we all will often train not only at the main SBG but other SBG gyms. For example, Peter Queally opened SBG Naas and that’s a great facility, so Conor and many of us would often train there. There’s SBG D24 with Paddy Holohan; we’ve got many SBGs now so as a result it may seem sometimes that we’re not all there at SBG HQ, but we still are all a part of SBG.”

For the time being anyway, it looks as though we will just have to play the waiting game and take Lobov’s word for it. We know that Lobov’s next fight will be on April 6 for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships against fellow former UFC fighter Jason Knight.

McGregor’s future is less certain. He has teased a UFC return in July and called off Anthony Pettis last night, but nothing is set for him right now.

Let us know what you think. Will McGregor end up leaving SBG or will he stay put?
