Anthony Pettis Dropping Down To Featherweight, Seeks August Return
Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis is making a big move professionally as he will be leaving the 155lb division and is headed to the 145lb division (featherweight) for his next fight.
Pettis’ manager, Malki Kawa told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani that Pettis will enlist the help of Mike Dolce to oversee the weight cut.

Pettis (18-5) has struggled in his last couple of fights as he has dropped his last three, most recently to Edson Barboza at UFC 197 by decision. The move to featherweight is hopeful to Pettis in terms of turning around his career.
Pettis is also looking to return in August. It’s possible that the UFC books him on the August 20th UFC 202 pay-per-view card that features Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz. As of this writing, there’s no word on who he will be fighting.
