Anthony Johnson Wants Daniel Cormier At UFC 205, ‘DC’ Has Other Plans
Things got heated on social media between title contender Anthony Johnson and current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
There has been talk about the UFC booking Johnson vs. Jones for the interim UFC light heavyweight title when/if Jones gets freed from his suspension. Johnson recently took to his Facebook page and noted that he is done sitting on his hands. Now, he wants a fight with Cormier at UFC 205 on November 12th in New York City at Madison Square Garden.
“DC I want to fight you in New York City on Nov 12. We got 7.5 weeks to get ready and put on a fight for the fans of New York and the world to remember. It is our time to do battle! When Jon got into trouble and was removed from my title fight, I accepted you as an opponent on 3 weeks notice despite the dramatic change in fight style. You were the better man that night and took the belt. I didn’t demand an immediate rematch, it was well within my rights to do so. I went to the back of the line and fought my way back to the front. To headline the event in Maddison Square Garden is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Let’s do it! Balls in your court Daniel.
Enough of this waiting game that you or UFC is playing!”
Cormier was quick to respond on Twitter as he told Johnson that UFC 205 is probably out, but UFC 207 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas is a possibility.
You're willing to miss the biggest card ever? You gotta wait that long for me to go down? Sooner the better! https://t.co/sOql85OSmI

Johnson and Cormier have fought before. The two fighters met at UFC 187 in May of 2015, which saw Cormier win the fight by third round submission. Time will tell if the UFC books this fight.
