Anthony Johnson Returns To Form, Knocks Out Jimi Manuwa In Las Vegas

Anthony Johnson (20-5) had the opportunity to rebound from his loss to current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight title holder Daniel Cormier back in May. To do so, he needed to outmatch Jimi Manuwa (15-2) at UFC 191 in Las Vegas.

Mission accomplished.

The action began and “Rumble” blocked a high kick. Johnson swung away and dropped Manuwa momentarily. Johnson shot in and took the “Poster Boy” down. Johnson landed some heavy punches while controlling his opponent’s back. As quickly as Manuwa got back to his feet, he was on his back. Johnson looked to move into an arm triangle, but wasn’t able to secure it. They stood back up and they tied up. The round ended without much damage being done in the clinch.
