Anderson Silva Rumored to Have Broken Rib, Both Camp and Dana White Deny

According to information given by the Sports Interactive internal sources clinic where he was examined, in Rio de Janeiro,Anderson Silva had a broken rib. Still do not know the extent of the problem, but it could put at risk the Spider UFC 162, which would face Chris Weidman“”

“Anderson would have done x-ray examinations in clinical CDPI, which has branches in the neighborhoods of Barra da Tijuca and Leblon. The test results have not been disclosed, but according to clinic staff, was accused fracture.”

You’ll have to excuse the shoddy translation, but you get the idea. This could be a huge blow for the UFC’s yearly schedule, if Anderson is taken from the card. Silva has been known to suffer from rib problems, it was well documented that he trained for his first fight with Chael Sonnen on a broken rib.

According to Ariel Helwani, however, the injury is not fight-threatening as both Silva’s camp and Dana White have denied the rumor altogether:
