Should Anderson Silva’s UFC 183 Win Get Overturned?
It’s been a bumpy road for former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva since first meeting Chris Weidman at UFC 162. “The Spider” was on the wrong end of the most shocking finish in the history of the sport, only to come back far too soon for a rematch at UFC 168. “The All-American” remained champion after Silva snapped his leg, and we saw the Brazilian sidelined for over a year.
His return to action at UFC 183 was not the best version of Silva we’d seen, but he got the victory over Nick Diaz after five rounds. Then came the outrageous, unexpected headlining news that Anderson Silva’s UFC 183 win was acheived while under the influence of two different anabolic steroids.
The MMA world reeled in the wake of this gargantuan revelation, well most of it did, and we’re left wondering whether the former champion had done this before. Masking agents revealed on his out of competition drug test sheet would suggest that Silva may have been doing this on purpose.
So the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission) will likely suspend Silva until his appeal has gone through, as he claimed that there must have been a mistake during the testing process.
Do you think Anderson Silva’s UFC 183 win over Nick Diaz should be overturned, or maybe considering Diaz was high as a kite on weed they could just leave it be? Perhaps Silva will be vindicated, or ar the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) results just too damning?
