Anderson Silva Sends Warning Message To Conor McGregor

Anderson Silva sends a clear message to UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, is there anyone that isn’t offended by McGregor’s antics?

The UFC featherweight champion and next contender to Rafael dos Anjos’ lightweight belt, Conor McGregor has a lot of business to tend to in two very stacked divisions. The jury is out on his 155-pound legitimacy until UFC 196, but his chops at 145 pounds are undeniable. Defeating the long reigning Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds at UFC 194, ‘The Notorious’ leaves the division on hold for his next battle with yet another Brazilian champ.

RDA will be a huge enough test as it is, but McGregor also revealed he’d be asking for a welterweight title fight if he wins the 155-pound belt. Now there’s someone in the UFC middleweight division that has beef with McGregor, and that’s the former champion Anderson Silva. He told FOX Sports that although he’s impressed by ‘The Notorious’ as a fighter, he doesn’t like the way the Irishman talks ill of Brazilians.

“(Conor) McGregor, he’s a great fighter and he’s doing his job very well. He’s very intelligent and he knows exactly what he’s doing. But Rafael (dos Anjos) can not get led on by his antics because it didn’t work out very well for Jose Aldo,” Silva said during an open workout with media on Thursday in Los Angeles.

“I think both Jose Aldo and Rafael can both beat him and I also think Conor McGregor should really be careful about what he says about the Brazilians. Because the last person that spoke about a Brazilian, it didn’t end too well for him.”

There are similarities and differences when comparing McGregor to fellow trash talker Chael Sonnen, one huge point is that only one of them actually made it to title glory, although the ‘American Gangster’ did come close.

Who knows what the future holds for the featherweight champion, or the division he’s currently putting on hold to fight in other weight categories. One thing will probably remain constant as long as ‘The Notorious’ keeps winning though, and that’s the amount of enemies he’ll be making all over the place, let alone in Brazil.

Stay tuned.
