‘Mean motherf***er’ Alistair Overeem wants to starch Stefan Struve in 30 seconds…..

A pair of Dutch heavyweight giants will clash at UFC on FOX 13 this weekend (Sat., Dec 13th, 2014) as Alistair Overeem and Stefan Struve get ready to throw down. In what is essentially a do-or-die fight for “The Demolition Man”, Struve will be looking to make a statement after a lengthy hiatus from fighting.

Talking during the recent episode of ‘UFC on FOX 13 Road To The Octagon’, “The Reem” outlined his plans for fight night in Phoenix, Arizona:

“I’m really not that impressed by him, I’m a striker, and I like to knock people out. I’m going to knock him out in the first 30 seconds. I know myself, I’ve had setbacks before, but I fight through them,” Overeem said. “There are always going to be critical people. They have all the right to be critical. It’s my right to not give a damn. You keep your back straight, chin on your chest, and do the best you can.”

Overeem’s recent showings have been lacklustre at best; he has been starched by Travis Browne, Ben Rothwell and Antonio Silva since joining the UFC. The hype he rolled in on thoroughly derailed, “The Demolition Man” finds himself with his back against the wall against “The Skyscraper”.

“My thing is, I want to win. I’m a winner,” he said. “Why don’t you win? Is that because I don’t work hard and put the effort in? That’s not it. I know I put the effort and the energy in and do my best.

“I can’t wait until fight day. I am a striker and I do like to knock people out. I want to knock him out in the first 30 seconds. I’m a mean motherf-cker, and it’s going to come out in the fight.”

Overeem’s K-1 calibre kickboxing used to strike fear in to the hearts of his opponents, but has only seen him win two from five since joining the UFC. Will we see a new and improved Alistair Overeem at UFC on FOX 13, or will Stefan Struve put the final nail in the coffin of his Countrymen’s career?
