Top-ranked UFC light heavyweight Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson is headed for what could be deemed the second biggest fight of his life when he faces the surging Anthony “Rumble” Johnson in the main event of tonight’s (Sat., January 24, 2014) UFC on FOX 14 from the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

With a potential shot at dominant divisional champion Jon Jones on the line, Gustafsson knows what is at stake. The tension is mounting for his pivotal headliner in front of his native fans, and “The Mauler” is ready to perform for them. Despite all of the dynamics leading into the bout, Gustafsson told UFC on FOX’s Gareth Davies that he won’t be feeling too much pressure from the 30,000 Swedish fans screaming his name:

“No, not at all. I’m just very excited for the fight, and I can’t even imagine how it will be tomorrow. It’s gonna be packed; it’s gonna be crazy.”

When asked about his nearly yearlong layoff caused by a knee injury before his previously scheduled UFC 178 fight against Jones, Gustafsson said that he is obviously excited to be fighting again:

“I’m just so happy to be a part of this and be here to actually experience all this, so yeah, I‘m super happy.”

Finally, “The Mauler” offered up his prediction for the bout, and not surprisingly, he doesn’t see it going to the judges’ scorecards:

“With me as a winner, of course. I don’t think it’s going to be a decision, it’s going to finish with me as a winner. But if it goes to a decision, I’ll be happy with that too.”

With the stage set and UFC on FOX 14 nearly upon us, will “The Mauler” deliver on his massive potential to get his anticipated rematch with bitter rival Jones?
