Alex Pereira remains betting favorite to beat Jamahal Hill as UFC 300 Fight Week lands

Alex Pereira weighs up Manchester fight with Tom Aspinall at UFC 304 I'm there

With UFC 300 ‘Fight Week’ finally upon us amid months of anticipation, event headliner, Alex Pereira remains a distinct betting favorite to successfully defend his undisputed light heavyweight champion, and defeat the returning, Jamahal Hill this weekend in ‘Sin City’.

Pereira, the current undisputed light heavyweight champion and a former undisputed middleweight titleholder, has been sidelined since last November, turning in a second round TKO win over former champion, Jiri Prochazka to snatch vacant 205 pound spoils in his sophomore outing at the weight class.

As for Hill, the Illinois native will make his first outing himself since he captured light heavyweight gold back in January of last year, where he toppled Pereira’s close friend, Glover Teixeira over the course of five rounds in a dominant win – in another vacant championship offing.

And with UFC 300 rolling fast into town just later this weekend, Alex Pereira still remains an impressive -130 betting favorite to beat the +100 betting underdog, Jamahal Hill – who is returning from a nasty ruptured Achilles injury last summer.

Fans and punters alike can find many betting odds available – as well as bonus wager options on this page ahead of UFC 300 this weekend, as part of a card that is set to draw massive attention from bettors and punters in Las Vegas.

Pereira, a ferocious knockout artist, saw himself inducted into the GLORY Kickboxing Hall of Fame last November prior to his fight with Prochazka – with the Brazilian emulating his two-weight class championship reign in the UFC with his knockout of the Czech Republic favorite.

The win came as Sao Paulo striker, Pereira’s second in the weight class – following a prior decision success against another former champion, Jan Blachowicz back in July, which moved him into pole position to challenge Hill – before the Dana White’s Contender Series product’s ankle injury during International Fight Week.

Poking fun at the likely front-foot approach awaiting him from Pereira later this weekend atop a monumental UFC 300 card, Hill has warned the Brazilian that once he gets within striking range against him – he’ll likely find himself staring at the bright lights from the rafters, on the canvas.

“I’ve never been dominated in the striking game,” Jamahal Hill explained. “I’ve been caught, I’ve had my sh*t rocked, some people have had some moments, but nobody has ever dominated me in any facet of striking, ever, in my life. So, for me to be having this fight now and to come in and that’s all this dude does – they say he’s the best striker in the world, possibly of all time. Hell yeah, I’m excited for that because I feel that’s a title I hold; that’s a level my name should ring on.”
“He grabs me, he’s f*cking done,” Hill explained. “He grabs me, he’s done. I’m not Jan (Blachowicz). I’m not Jiri (Prochazka), I’m not one of these dudes that got you on the ground and laid on you. When I get you down, I get on top of you, I f*ck you up, period.”
