Carlos Leal Destroys Alex Morono, Scores First Win Inside the Octagon – UFC 313 Highlights

Carlos Leal slugged out another big first-round knockout over Alex Morono at UFC 313 on Saturday night.
As expected, Leal and Morono came out swinging almost immediately and never once let up. However, it was Leal’s constant pressure that proved to be the difference-maker. To his credit, Morono was ready to go out on his shield and continued to swing away, but Leal brilliantly mixed up his attacks, brutalizing Morono’s body before going back upstairs.

With Morono pinned up against the fence and eating a bevy of brutal strikes, the referee had finally seen enough and stepped in, bringing a stop to the onslaught with less than a minute to go in the opening round.

Official Result: Carlos Leal def. Alex Morono via TKO (strikes) at 4:16 of Round 1.

It was Leal’s first win inside the Octagon after he came up short on a highly controversial scorecard against Rinat Fakhretdinov in his promotional debut last year. Overall, ‘The Lion’ is 22-6 with 13 of his wins coming inside the distance.
