Alex Garcia Submits Muslim Salikhov In Shanghai

Alex Garcia picked up a win over Muslim Salikhov in UFC Fight Night 122’s main card opener.

Early on, Garcia shoved Salikhov against the fence. He grabbed a hold of a leg and took down his opponent. Garcia moved to side control briefly. Salikhov bucked him off and the fight returned standing.

A spinning back kick to the body was there for Salikhov. Garcia blocked a spinning backfist. They tied up and Garcia landed a knee off the break. Garcia changed levels and scored a takedown near the end of the round.

Round two stood on the feet for about three minutes. Garcia landed a clean right hand. With just over two minutes left in the frame, Garcia took his opponent down. He quickly took the back and went for a rear-naked choke. Garcia got under the chin and forced the tap.
