Alan Jouban Ends Mike Perry’s Unbeaten Streak

UFC on FOX 22’s main card got started with a welterweight clash between a seasoned veteran and a fast rising knockout artist. Alan Jouban (15-4) and Mike Perry (9-1) went toe-to-toe inside the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.

The fight gave Perry two firsts. It was the first time he went the distance. It was also the first loss in his professional career.

Perry wasted little time moving forward and throwing kicks. Jouban would end up striking first with a knockdown. “Brahma” threw out some kicks high and low. A hard body kick found the mark for Jouban. A high kick was blocked by Jouban, but “Platinum” landed a leg kick. Perry landed a knee to the body, but Jouban grabbed a hold of his opponent near the fence.

“Brahma” lifted Perry up and took him to the mat. Perry got back up quickly. Jouban opened up with a right hand, but Perry landed one of his own. A head kick from Perry pierced through the guard of Jouban and had him backing up. A spinning back fist attempt from Jouban missed and he was clearly wobbled from the head kick earlier. The round end shortly after.

The second round began and it appeared Jouban’s kick grazed the cup of Perry, but he wasn’t fazed. “Platinum” connected with a leg kick. A left hand from Jouban landed and he moved in for a takedown. The two separated and “Brahma” landed a straight right. Perry ate a body kick moving forward. Perry hit his oppnent with a body shot. Jouban dropped Perry with a straight left hand. The round ended with both men standing.

The two met at the center of the Octagon for the final frame. Perry landed a lunging right hand. A jab found the mark for Jouban. Perry ducked under a head kick and blocked the follow up spinning backfist attempt. A combination from “Brahma” found the chin of “Platinum.” A hard body kick landed for Jouban and up to this point it was easy to score the round for him. Blood trickled from the nose of Perry. A takedown attempt from Jouban was thwarted. “Brahma” was aggressive with kicks before the final round came to an end.

The score totals were read and all three judges scored the fight for “Brahma.”

Final Result: Alan Jouban def. Mike Perry via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)
