UFC on FOX 15: Max Holloway vs. Cub Swanson Full Fight Video Highlights

Max Holloway

On a five-fight win streak heading into his bout with No. 5-ranked featherweight Cub Swanson last night (Sat., April 18, 2015), Max “Blessed” Holloway had an excellent opportunity to arrive as an elite contender at UFC on FOX 15 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

He capitalized on that chance in unexpectedly one-sided fashion, using his reach and diverse striking repertoire to never really let Swanson get started. Holloway rocked the higher ranked Swanson with kicks, jabs, flying knees, and some powerful left hands that dropped “Killer Cub,” but ultimately it was his ground skills that ended the fight, as Holloway forced the tap with a guillotine choke late into the final round.

“Blessed” picked up a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his efforts as well, the third post-fight award of his current six-fight win streak.

The thoroughly impressive victory was undoubtedly Holloway’s biggest win, and the future looks bright for the 23-year-old veteran of 12 UFC fights. He should be in line for a shot at Chad Mendes or the winner of May 16’s Frankie Edgar vs. Urijah Faber contest from the Philippines.
