UFC Fight Night 60: Benson Henderson vs. Brandon Thatch Highlights
Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson made a thunderous welterweight debut by submitting hometown favorite and surging striker Brandon Thatch in the main event of last night’s (Sat., February 14, 2015) UFC Fight Night 60 from Broomfield, Colorado.
‘Smooth’ stepped up to the plate in huge fashion after a recent slide at lightweight, absorbing a ton of damage from Thatch in the early rounds before using his wrestling and Jiu-jitsu to seal up a defining and redeeming win.
It’s still up in the air whether or not Henderson will stay at 170 pounds or cut back down to 155, but right now he deserves to bask in the glow of an entertaining comeback win that is already being deemed 2015’s “Fight of the Year” so far.
Henderson appeared rejuvenated without having to cut so much weight, and he could be in a force in the near future.
