Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier: Bad Blood And Countdown To UFC 182

We are now less than one week away from the blockbuster UFC 182 card, which is set to go down next Saturday (January 3, 2015) live on pay-per-view (PPV) from Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event features the highly anticipated grudge match between reigning light heavyweight champion and pound-for-pound king Jon “Bones” Jones and No. 1 contender Daniel “DC” Cormier.

This bout has received a plethora of attention and has even been called the biggest rivalry and most anticipated bout in the history of the UFC. It all started with the infamous UFC 178 media day brawl. That was followed by the now famous “hot mic” incident which has fans chomping at the bit to see the two settle the score inside of the Octagon.

Tonight, FOX Sports 1  as the UFC put together quite an exciting evening of programming to further promote the fight.

First up at was the premiere of “UFC Presents Bad Blood: Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier”. This 30-minute special dives deep into the rivalry between the two undefeated superstars, a rivalry that actually began long before the two were ever scheduled to fight for the championship.

Up next is “UFC Countdown: Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier”. The episode takes a look inside both men’s training camps leading up to the fight. “Bones” of course training with legendary trainers Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn in Albuquerque, New Mexico, while “DC” prepares for the biggest fight of his life in at American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) San Jose, California.

After a very troubling 2014 for the UFC, this is the perfect card to start of 2015 with a bang, and the promotion is doing everything they can to promote the main event. Overall, UFC 182 features a solid night of fights that should be a great treat to fans who may not have been happy with some of the pay-per-views in 2014.

However, when it comes down to it, fans are itching to see the main event, and for good reason. Jones is the best fighter on the planet, taking on a true test in an undefeated Olympian.
