Ricardo Lamas Hoping For Conor McGregor Next

UFC featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas returned to action at UFC 180, putting an end to Dennis Bermudez’s streak n dominant fashion. See the highlights here. Now “The Bully” has the option of a top tier bout with fellow Jose ALdo victim Chad Mendes, but it seems someone else has caught the attention of Lamas.
Yes, you guessed it, Conor Mcgregor is who Lamas wants to fight now. Check out what “The Bully” told FOX Sports this week:
“The biggest guy everyone is talking about in the featherweight division is Conor McGregor,” Lamas said. “I’d love to fight with him. I know he’s matched up in January, but if he wins that fight, I think he has to fight a wrestler like me before he gets the title [shot].”
The subject of McGregor facing a wrestler is a popular one at the moment, as Frankie Edgar also pointed out–“The Notorious” hasn’t faced one in the UFC yet. Lamas continued to say that he was ‘staying in shape’ in case Dennis Siver falls out of his Boston booking against the Irish fan favorite.
The two are set to headline UFC on FOX 1 on January 18th, but wouldn’t it have made more sense to wait for the winner of Bermudez vs Lamas before booking McGregor in for his next fight?
