Report: Georges St-Pierre To Return At UFC 206
Legendary former UFC welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre is reportedly coming back to MMA.
Big Brand Boys reported that insider sources have informed them that St-Pierre has reached an agreement with the UFC to fight at UFC 206 on December 10, 2016 in Toronto.
As of this writing, there’s no word yet on who he will be fighting at the event. Earlier this year, “GSP” said in an interview he was offered a “super fight in Toronto”:

At the time, people thought it was going to be against current UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping. However, Bisping will be fighting Dan Henderson at UFC 204 on October 4 in Manchester, England. There’s speculation that St-Pierre will fight Nick Diaz, who recently came off an 18-month suspension from the NSAC, in a rematch of their first meeting at the event. St-Pierre defeated Diaz by unanimous decision at UFC 158 in March of 2013to retain his title.
Back on August 10, St-Pierre entered the USADA drug testing pool to signify that his highly anticipated return was indeed becoming close to a reality.
St-Pierre decided to take a break from MMA following his split decision victory over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167. During his MMA career, St-Pierre made nine successful title defenses and held an overeall pro MMA record of 25–2.
UFC President Dana White has gone on record by saying that St-Pierre would never fight again, but now it’s looking like he will. St-Pierre vs. Diaz 2 would sell very well on its own, but whomever GSP fights next, it’s going to be a huge spectacle.
