Poll: Will You Buy UFC 190?
Headlined by a women’s bantamweight grudge match between supremely dominant champion Ronda Rousey and undefeated challenger Bethe Correia, the UFC 190 pay-per-view (PPV) is set to grace our screens tomorrow night (Sat., August 1, 2015) from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
It’s a rivalry that’s been built up by Correia’s incessant trash talk ad the angle that she made some supposedly insensitive remarks about Rousey’s family in the process, but in reality, despite all of the trash talk and buildup. It will most likely be another squash match where Rousey picks up a quick and devastating finish.
That fact coupled with a main card that is mostly littered with aging Brazilian legends who many fans outside of Brazil would be hard-pressed to pay to watch fight (in addition to the sparsely viewed TUF Brazil 4 Finales) has many MMA aficionados on the fence about buying the event. While it cannot be denied that Rousey has an absolutely massive fanbase as the biggest crossover star the UFC has ever seen, there are also several valid reasons why this is a card that could fail to live up to its expectations. Check out those reasons right here.
Of course, Rousey’s star power could override any questions about the card’s legitimacy, and the event could certainly meet or exceed PPV expectations; it’s kind of a wait-and-see dynamic in this unpredictable era of the UFC. With that said, will you contribute to UFC 190’s potential success, or will you save your hard-earned money?
