Nick Diaz Hires Professionals To Investigate UFC 183 Drug Test
The MMA world was shocked when the legendary Anderson “The Spider” Silva tested positive for anabolic steroids leading up to and after his highly anticipated return at January’s UFC 183. What fans weren’t as shocked about was that Silva’s opponent Nick Diaz tested positive for Marijuana – for the third time that is.
The two are likely to receive suspensions and fines, but with their hearings with the commission recently being pushed back, we are currently unsure of the punishments at hand. However, it looks as if Diaz is taking action to fight his potential punishment.
MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani reported on tonight’s (March 25, 2015) edition of UFC Tonight, that the Stockton bad boy has hired the New York-based firm of Seham, Seham, Meltz & Pierson LLP to perform an investigation on the results of the UFC 183 drug tests.
Apparently Diaz believes there were some “irregularities” regarding his test results. This firm is known for their specialization in drug related cases.
Diaz was once suspended before for one year with his previous failed drug test for Marijuana. Although Marijuana is slowly becoming accepted in today’s society, it is still a banned in-competition substance in MMA, and Diaz could be facing another suspension, unless his new team can find any so called “irregularities”.
