Matt Brown vs Nate Diaz Cancelled According To “The Immortal”
Exciting UFC welterweight Matt Brown and 155/170 pounder Nate Diaz were recently added to the UFC 189 card in July. That fight was announced a week ago, and since then there has been some rather odd stories surrounding the potentially explosive, and likely FOTN (fight of the night) winning pairing.
First of all Diaz said, within 24 hours of the fight being announced, that he actually wanted to fight former lightweight champion and long time foe Anthony Pettis. The Stockton native then furthered the point, suggesting he was being forced in to the fight with “The Immortal”.
So really, what the heck is going on? Matt Brown vs Nate Diaz may be one of those ‘best fights on paper ‘ that never come to fruition, as “The Immortal” Tweeted late last night:
Fight against @NateDiaz209 isn’t happening. I’ll update you guys soon as I get the word on opponent/date/ thanks for the support as always! — Matt Brown (@IamTheImmortal) April 15, 2015
By the way I like watching Diaz fight lw’s I wish him the best of luck in the future and I’ll be watching every time he fights — Matt Brown (@IamTheImmortal) April 15, 2015
That certainly is a kick to the collective nutsack to all fans of great fights. Two strikers that love to sit in the pocket and brawl, one teetering on the edge of becoming a top 10 staple, and the other struggling t stay afloat in the busy UFC landscape. So what gives?
Well, contrary to recent news that Anthony Pettis will be facing Myles Jury, the younger of the notorious Diaz bros suggests that he will welcome the former 155-pound champion back to action, as he told fans over Twitter that a bout with his nemesis “Showtime” is next…..
Nah I’m fighting Pettis
