It’s been nearly a month and a half since former long-time UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo surrendered his title in brutal fashion at December 12’s UFC 194 from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Aldo was knocked out cold in just 13 seconds by Irish super star and reigning 145 pound title holder the “Notorious” Conor McGregor.

In the aftermath of such a devastating injury, “Scarface” has remained relatively quiet, that is until now.

Aldo took to his official Instagram account today (January 27, 2016) to make it clear that he will only accept two fights moving a forward: a fight for the title, or a fight with McGregor regardless of the belt:

“Hi everyone, i was quiet for a while because i was waiting for my rematch based on how the fight Went down, in fact I was already training for it, but apparently I was wrong. So I wanted to make something clear to UFC: for everything I have done, everything I have accepted and mostly how the fight ended, I will not accept any other fight other than a title shot . My only exception would be fighting thenotorious , at any time, anywhere , and once that he is scary and knows that I’m gonna win …. Doesn’t have to be title fight against him. Keep my belt, but I wanna whoop ur ass anywhere.

@danawhite @lorenzofertitta @ufc keep ur word. I still believe in the company that I work for. #rematch”

Unfortunately for Aldo, this request likely will not come soon, as McGregor is slated to move up in weight, challenging lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at March 5’s UFC 196 from Las Vegas.

The “Notorious” will hold his featherweight title no matter the outcome of his next fight, but Frankie Edgar is thought to be the next man in line at 145 pounds making Aldo the odd man out.

Should “Scarface” suck it up and take another fight in the meantime, or does he deserve a rematch?
