Ian McCall vs John Lineker Scrapped Due To Illness

Ian McCall vs John Lineker was meant to be the co-main event at UFC Fight Night 56…..

UFC flyweight Ian McCall was scheduled to take part in a potentially explosive co-main event bout against John Lineker tonight (Saturday Nov. 8th, 2014), but “Uncle Creepy” has fallen on hard times. News emerged today that McCall was taken to a hospital in Brazil, and subsequently diagnosed with a viral infection.

“Hands Of Stone” has been removed from UFC Fight Night 56 too, in what has turned out to be an unfortunate sequence of events. “Uncle Creepy” was quoted as being unwell this week, via MMAJunkie:

“I probably shouldn’t say this, but I just got my blood work back, my white blood cell count is through the roof,” he said. “I’m sick, over-trained, or whatever it may be. That’s what happens. That’s the fight game. It’s not an excuse. I’m healthier than I’ve ever been. This is just how it goes.”
