Henry Cejudo Removed From UFC 177 Card For Medical Reasons

Henry Cajudo

Olympic Gold Medallist Henry Cejudo was all set to face off against Scott Jorgensen on tomorrow nights UFC 177 card (Sat. August 30, 2014), in his debut for the promotion. Now 6-0 as a pro, the Olympic Wrestler was set to face off against “Young Guns” in a bantamweight affair. My use of past tense in that sentence was not misplaced.

Cejudo has been withdrawn from the UFC 177 card, and Jorgensen removed from the event completely. Thomas Gerbasi of UFC.com said the following on Cejudo:

Due to medical reasons, debuting flyweight Henry Cejudo has been forced to withdraw from Saturday’s UFC 177 bout against Scott Jorgensen in Sacramento. The card will continue as scheduled with nine bouts.”

Interesting factoid of the day-Cejudo withdrew from three Legacy FC fights before joining the UFC, making his scratch from UFC 177 his fourth absence on the bounce. The card will continue with nine bouts, finalized as such:
