Four Blockbuster Bouts Official For April 25’s UFC 186 From Montreal
A trio of rumored bouts for April 25’s UFC 186 pay-per-view (PPV) from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, have been confirmed as the UFC has announced that the awaited bantamweight rematch between champion T.J. Dillashaw and former champion Renan Barao will headline the blockbuster event.
Rory MacDonald will indeed go to war with Hector Lombard in the co-main event, a bout that was agreed upon by “The Red King” but remained unofficial as the welterweight title scene became something that could only be deemed confusing at best.
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will also re-debut on the card versus an opponent tailor-made for his power slugging style in former professional boxer and potential zombie Fabio Maldonado.
Four more bouts were added to the card, starting with a pivotal middleweight affair between C.B. Dollaway and Michael Bisping, with both fighters badly needing a win to stay afloat in the jam-packed and talented division.
Montreal native Patrick Cote will meet Joe Riggs in a potentially exciting affair at welterweight. The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 4 finalist Cote had won three in a row before he lost his most recent bout to Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at UFC 178. He’ll face another fighter seeking to rebound, as Riggs unfortunately lost his UFC return bout due to a neck injury against Ben Saunders at UFC on FOX 13.
Two rising prospects will square off in a lightweight match between Olivier Aubin-Mercier and David Michaud, and TUF 18 women’s finalist Jessica Rakoczy will move down to strawweight to face Valerie Letourneau.
Here’s a list of the developing event’s lineup as it currently sits:
T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao
Rory MacDonald vs. Hector Lombard
Quinton Jackson vs. Fabio Maldonado
Michael Bisping vs. C.B. Dollaway
Patrick Cote vs. Joe Riggs
Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. David Michaud
Jessica Rakoczy vs. Valerie Letourneau
