The age-old rivalry between Ronda Rousey and Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino rages on, and Rousey’s UFC 170 victory was yet another indicator that the talent pool in the UFC women’s division is too shallow. Cyborg has long been considered the best female fighter outside the UFC, and fans have been debating the two fighting for a while now.

In light of Rousey’s dominant win at 170 against Sara McMann, Cyborg posted the following on twitter:

Negotiations with the UFC fell through for Justino, partly aided by the fact Tito Ortiz was her manager at that time. Dana White was none too happy with the demands made by the former light-heavyweight champion, and Cyborg was relegated to smashing cans in Invicta FC. Things might be looking up though, as DW spoke at the post fight presser:

“Well, like I told you guys the other day, I think the genius (Tito Ortiz) put her in a box because, you know, saying that you’ll die if you make 135-pounds is a pretty bold statement. She would probably have to make 135-pounds a couple times somewhere else and fight to show she’s healthy and we’ll see what happens”

“She’s gotta fight, she’s gotta make weight a few times. We’ll see what happens. There’s a lot of things that would have to happen before we… First, we would have to come to a deal. She would have to fight, make 135-pounds a couple times somewhere else, and if she’s healthy or whatever maybe we can do it.”

A fight between Rousey and Cyborg would be the biggest WMMA draw of all time, without a doubt. What does the women’s bantamweight champ make of this?

“Of course I’m interested in it, but she’s the one that asked to be released by the UFC like the day after they announced out-of-competition drug testing. I’m not going anywhere. She knows where I’m at.”

Its looking more and more like a Rousey vs. Cyborg clash in the near future, so who are you picking in this dream WMMA scrap?
