UFC president Dana White spoke about former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar……

Much has been said about a potential Brock Lesnar UFC return, after illness hampered the last three years of his fighting career. The WWE superstar made the crossover in to MMA back in 2007, and quickly became a huge name in the sport. Although his career was only four years long, Lesnar captured the UFC heavyweight championship in 2008, and defended it twice.

Now back competing for the WWE, Lesnar is still the subject of frequent debates in the MMA world. Talking to UFC.com, UFC president Dana White says he is still interested in seeing the former champion fight in the octagon:

“I have a great relationship with Brock, we talk all the time,” White said. “I don’t know, we’ll see. If he wants to fight, he knows my number. It’s pretty amazing what he did and accomplished here while having diverticulitis,” White said. “It would be interesting to see a 100 percent healthy Brock Lesnar compete.”

Lesnar’s intense demeanour led to an immediate UFC feud with Frank Mir, as he was submitted by the former champion at UFC 81 in his debut. Later, at UFC 100, Lesnar would take revenge by defending his title against Mir with a savage TKO win. The latter part of Lesnar’s career was somewhat slow, due to illness and surgeries after he was diagnosed with diverticulitis.

Would Lesnar have done anything different against Cain Velasquez at UFC 121? Who knows, but the year long absences for surgery and recovery still leave a question mark over his performances. Lesnar’s PPV draw was undeniable though, and even now he would likely boost the economy for Zuffa.

Do you think we will ever see a Brock Lesnar UFC return, or is he best off sticking to pro wrestling?
