With this Saturday night’s (January 3, 2015) UFC 182 pay-per-view (PPV) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas bearing down our necks, UFC President Dana White just got done meet up with members of the media for his pre-fight scrum today (Thurs., January 1, 2015).

Among the hot topics of conversation were the future plans for rising Irish superstar Conor McGregor, who is largely thought to secure a featherweight title shot against Jose Aldo with a in over Dennis Siver in the main event of January 18’s UFC Fight Night 59.

Bleacher Report’s Jeremy Botter tweeted that White not only confirmed that “Notorious” would indeed get a shot at gold with a win, but prognosticated the bout as taking place from Dublin’s Croke Arena in May:

Responding to news after UFC on FOX released the finding, UFC featherweight Cub Swanson immediately voiced his disagreement with the news:

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported that White also discussed some news that we already knew, re-affirming that former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks would get a trilogy-ending rematch with new champ Robbie Lawler in favor of the an understandably disappointed Rory MacDonald:

It appears White has already begun mapping out two of the most exciting title pictures for early 2015, and although many will cry that McGregor does not deserve a title shot until he beats a top wrestler, he is the only featherweight in the Top 5 that hasn’t lost to Aldo.

There’s also n denying that Aldo vs. McGregor could potentially be the most anticipated and electric fight in all of 2015. Do you agree with White’s plans to fast-track “Notorious?”
