WSOF 27 Results: Fodor Earns Decision Victory Over Firmino

WSOf 27

It was once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, January 23rd, 2016) will come from Memphis, Ten, in the form of WSOf 27. Headlining the card are Luiz Firmino and Caros Fodor, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the rest of the main card.

Luiz Firmino and Caros Fodor met in a lightweight bout. This was a close back and forth fight that saw both fighters take the fight to the ground as well have some classic exchanges on the feet. The fight went the distance and saw Firmino picking up the unanimous decision victory.

Teddy Holder and Shamil Gamzatov met in a light heavyweight bout. Gamzatov looked impressive in his WSOF debut as he knocked out the #2 ranked fighter in the WSOF light heavyweight division. Gamzatov started throwing bombs mid-way through the round and finished him on the ground.

Jorge Medina and Bryce Mitchell met in a featherweight bout. This one did not last long as Mitchell took him down, got his back, and locked in the rear-naked choke for the win in the first round.

Opening the main card on NBCSN was Chauncey Foxworth vs. Jaleel Willis in a welterweight bout. Willis dominated this fight with his ground and pound. Willis did get caught with an elbow that cut busted open his nose. He was just pouring out blood. This fight was a one-sided affair with Willis picking up the unanimous decision victory.
