Holly Holm vs Raquel Pennington Slated For UFC 184
The UFC 184 fight card just got an interesting addition…..
The women’s bantamweight scrap between professional boxing champion and former Invicta queen Holly Holm and TUF 18 veteran Raquel Pennington has found a new home. Originally slated to take place at UFC 181, the fight was called off when Holm sustained a neck injury in training.
Fans of “The Preacher’s Daughter” have waited a long time for her UFC debut, and she boasts a 7-0 record in comparison to Pennington’s 5-4. Holm was last seen head kicking the life out of Julia Werner at Invicta 30, Pennington choked out Ashlee Evans Smith in her last fight. The two have now been scribed in to square off at UFC 184 in California.
It’s likely that, given the shallow nature in the women’s bantamweight division, Holm will be fast tracked to a title shot with a win over Pennington. Of course the middleweight showdown between Chris Weidman and title challenger Vitor Belfort will hog the limelight, but check out how the rest of the UFC 184 fight card is shaping up below:
