5 Reasons Why Baseball Season Can Not Come Fast Enough
With the Super Bowl behind us and promos for the upcoming baseball season starting to show up on ESPN, I am totally ready for the baseball season to start.
My top 5 reasons are:
1. College basketball bores me to death – I'm sorry, I really am. But I did never attended a U.S. school (got my degree elsewhere) so I have no particular rooting interest. There are too many teams, too many games, I don't understand the rankings, bubble, snubs, et cetera. Selection committees, NIT, Big Dance, Final Four, March Madness, ohhh…. can it be April already?
2. Old faces in new places – every off-season someone moves somewhere, but it's a big deal when two of the biggest stars in the game change leagues. Add the Wilson signing by the Angles, Darvish coming from Japan, managerial changes, and there's a lot to look for.
3. Got to see who will be baseball's Tebow and Lin – After the NFL and the NBA got their manias and sanitys, I figure it's baseball's turn to deliver some phenomenon we didn't see coming. I'm curious…
4. New look marlins seem kinda fishy – I can't remember a team getting such a makeover, while basically staying in the same place. New uniforms, logo (ugly, if you ask me), stadium, name and big spendings in the offseason. It'll be interesting to find out if Ozzie and the gang can make a big splash or if they'll go belly-up faster than you can say "anchovy". (Fish puns are the best!)
5. I'm desperate for new positive images from my favorite teams… – I just got to get the image of Gronk not reaching the ball out of my head. And also the one of Carl Crawford, well, not reaching the ball…. Is it next year already?
Even Billy is getting a new look!
