Jon Jones Reacts To Steroid Accusations After Massive Weight Gain
Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has a message for the people that have accused him of steroid abuse….
As well as teasing fans with his potential comeback date of April 23, 2016 in Madison Square Gardens, ex-UFC light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones has been keeping active in the gym. The impressive physique that ‘Bones’ has clearly worked hard on during his lay-off since January has been the topic of much conversation lately, with many fans debating whether his massive gains have come organically or not.
The almost expected steroid allegations are no surprise given the current state of performance enhancing drug abuse in the sport of mixed martial arts, but Jones has never failed a test for PED’s in the past. His out-of-competition failure for cocaine is the only blot in the notebook of the former champion, but this still hasn’t stopped people from making speculation. With a long-awaited rematch with new champion Daniel Cormier on the horizon, the former boss has been posting videos of his monster deadlifts and training on the weights rack.
His latest post, courtesy of MMA Digest, shows Jones’ reaction to the allegations he’s been on the juice:
If ‘Bones’ does crumble against ‘DC’ in the rematch, at the minimum he may have a shot at a b-level singing career. A natural athlete, and clearly more dedicated than ever before, you could argue there’s more weight to the statement that Jones isn’t on the juice as opposed to abusing PED’s.
With everyone so focused on drug abuse in MMA, it’s easy for these sorts of physical gains to become scrutinised. It’s hardly like Jones hasn’t had the time to put in during the last 10 months, and it would be seriously foolish to tempt fate with the new USADA (U.S. Anti Doping Agency) drug testing in place.
Then again, stranger things have happened. What are your thoughts on Jon Jones‘ new muscular physique?
