UFN 26 Medical Suspensions: Browne Out Indefinitely

UFC Fight Night 26 provided fans with an awesome night of action from Boston, but also left a laundry list of medical suspensions. Travis Browne came off the worst of all the fighters following his knockout win over Alistair Overeem, facing an indefinite medical suspension.

UFC Fight Night 26 Medical Suspensions

Travis Browne was suspended indefinitely, pending orthopedic and ophthalmological clearance.

Alistair Overeem was suspended for 60 days with no contact for 45 days due to a forehead laceration.

Iuri Alcantara was suspended for 30 days due to a laceration.

Mike Pyle was suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days.

Michael Johnson was suspended indefinitely, pending ophthalmological clearance.

Joe Lauzon was suspended for 60 days with no contact for 45 days.

Brad Pickett was suspended for 60 days with no contact for 45 days due to facial contusions.

Conor McGregor was suspended for 45 days unless cleared by an MRI.

Max Holloway was suspended for 30 days, but needs orthopedic clearance of his right ankle.

Mike Brown was suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days.

Diego Brandao was suspended for 180 days, pending orthopedic clearance of his right hand.

Daniel Pineda was suspended for 180 days with no contact for 45 days, pending orthopedic clearance.

Manny Gamburyan was suspended indefinitely with no contact for 30 days, pending a facial/head CT scan.

Cody Donovan was suspended indefinitely, pending orthopedic clearance of his left hand.

For those of you that don’t know, ophthalmology is a branch of medicine that deals with diseases or physiology of the eyes. I’m assuming that Overeem’s early onslaught may have left a lasting effect on Browne.

Main event fighters Chael Sonnen and Shogun Rua managed to get away unscathed after their tilt.
