So Lawler bags a cool 156k to DJ’s 58k, another example of the impact that the smaller divisions are yet to have on the world of MMA?

Wow, and Johnson is the champ no less! Ellenberger made a killing considering his performance.

It has nothing to do with being in the smaller division… Just wait and see what happens to that amount once DJs contract is up for renewal…. Its just the contract he signed when he became a part of the UFC. With every couple of wins it goes up and if you performed well you have negotiation power for a better contract. Look at how long Robbie has been a company man… he didnt get that kind of paycheck overnight… !! and DJ is good… locker room bonuses, sponsor/endorsement.. he gets PAID… a lot more than Robbie, believe that! The only advantage the heavier divisions have is their PPV drawing power, not their base pay unless they come into the company with a big name already. Nobody knew DJ when he signed with the UFC, so he got a "nobody" contract! However after UFC on Fox 8, im sure people took notice and the smaller divisions will grow into a bigger PPV draw (especially DJ).

Lawler was great but making 3x Mighty Mouse salary is just wrong. MM being 5th after that incredible performance is even more wrong. Fighters work their whole careers to be champions, and champions should make more money, simple as that, unless, of course, their performance is garbage (See A. Silva versus Weidman).

    Mouse got robbed.
