UFC 171 Betting Odds: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
Tomorrow night we are treated to another night of mixed martial arts actions in Dallas, Texas as UFC 171 is set to take place from inside the American Airlines Center.
Robbie Lawler and Johny Hendricks will battle it out for the vacant welterweight title in the main event. While Carlos Condit is set to meet Tyron Woodley in the co-main event.
As you should know, every UFC event bring the chance to win big money so let’s take a closer look at tomorrow nights odds:
(Odds courtesy of www.paddypower.com)
Johny Hendricks 2/9 (-450) vs. Robbie Lawler 11/4 (+275)
Carlos Condit 8/15 (-187.5) vs. Tyron Woodley 6/4 (+150)
Myles Jury 4/7 (-175) vs. Diego Sanchez 11/8 (+137.5)
Hector Lombard 8/15 (-187.5) vs. Jake Shields 11/8 (+137.5)
Ovince St. Preux 1/4 (-400) vs. Nikita Krylov 11/4 (+275)
Kelvin Gastelum 8/13 (-162.5) vs. Rick Story 5/4 (+125)
Jessica Andrade 4/11 (-275) vs. Raquel Pennington 2/1 (+200)
Dennis Bermudez 1/2 (-200) vs. Jimy Hettes 13/8 (+162.5)
Alex Garcia 1/4(-400) vs. Sean Spencer 11/4 (+275)
Renee Forte 4/6 (-150) vs. Frank Trevino 6/5 (+120)
Justin Scoggins 1/5 (-500) vs. Will Campuzano 7/2 (+350)
Sean Strickland 4/6 (-150) vs. Bubba McDaniel 6/5 (+120)
Daniel Pineda 4/9 (-225) vs. Robert Whiteford 7/4 (+175)
Lombard vs. Shields
This is just a terrible matchup for Shields and I would be shocked to see him get a win here. Lombard is quite possibly the hardest striker in the welterweight division, with his frame and grappling skills combined he is Shields worst nightmare. Big bet on “Lightning” to win here.
Andrade vs. Pennington
Pennington is a tough girl, with some good striking skills but she is going up against a beast in Jessica Andrade. The Brazilian Andrade has sharp hands and she is incredibly aggressive to go with it. A bet on her to win is a fairly safe one.
Garcia and Scroggins are both pretty much guaranteed to win in my eyes but at those odds, they are not worth the gamble.
Condit vs. Woodley
Condit will most likely pick up the win on Saturday, but Woodley has a dangerous combination of knockout power and high-level wrestling which could very cause “The Natural Born Killer” problems. The odds on Condit to win via submission or KO are not bad at 11/10 but apart from that I would avoid betting.
Story vs. Gastelum
This is going to be a hard fight for both men and I would usually suggest to avoid betting on this type of fight. But, I think the oddsmakers have this wrong having Story as the underdog so my advice is to place a small bet on “The Horror”.
Hendricks vs. Lawler
Johny Hendricks is a huge favorite to win and for good reason, but I just don’t think it’s wise betting against Robbie Lawler; especially at those odds. Both men have enough power to end the fight with one shot at any time so avoid betting on this one.
My bet picks:
Hector Lombard to win via KO – Bet $80 to win $152.74
Nikita Krylov to win via KO or submission – Bet $15 to win $75
Jessica Andrade to win – Bet $50 to win $68.29
Lawler to win + Story to win – Bet $10 to win $84.33
My bonus picks:
Fight of the Night: Bermudez vs. Hettes
Performance of the Night 1: Carlos Condit
Performance of the Night 2: Justin Scroggins
