UFC Fight Night 63

Beyond the obvious featured clash of Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor at UFC 189, the future of the touted featherweight division will be decided in part by the result UFC Fight Night 63’s Chad Mendes vs. Ricardo Lamas headliner this Saturday from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.

Both former title contenders, “Money” and “The Bully” took part in an open workout session that was open to the fans in Fairfax. Mendes looked sharp and fast with his boxing, a skillset that he used to batter Aldo’s face in his decision loss to the champ last year.

The top contender gave respect to Lamas for being a well-rounded opponent, he just believes that his speed and power will be too much. For his part, Lamas looked incredibly sharp kicking the bags, and he didn’t appear to be quite as fat as Conor McGregor would have you believe.
