UFC Fight Night 62 Bonuses: Burns, Pepey Headline Four $50,000 Winners

Gilbert Burns

With nine total finish wins in 12 total bouts, last night’s (Sat., March 21, 2015) UFC Fight Night 62 from the Macaranazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, delivered an action-packed night of bouts featuring talented young fighters that made it hard to pick the post-fight bonus winners.

But it had to be done, and featherweight Kevin Souza not surprisingly earned one of the night’s four $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonuses for his vicious one-punch knockout over Katsunori Kikuno on the prelims.

Quickly building a ton of momentum, featherweight Godofredo Pepey scored a spectacular triangle choke over Andre Fili to score his third straight $50,000 bonus.

Extending his hype with a come-from-behind submission of Alex Oliveira, Gilbert Burns stayed undefeated and took home an extra ,000 for his impressive display of heart and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu skills.

On the Fight Pass prelims, Fredy Serrano made his UFC flyweight debut a successful one with a highlight reel uppercut knockout of Bentley Syler for another $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus.

The promotion handed out four “Performance of the Night” bonuses  instead of two and two “Fight of the Night” bonuses, which they’ve been doing routinely in recent months.
