UFC Fight Night 53 is set to go down this Saturday (Oct. 4th, 2014) in Stockholm, Sweden, and is headlined by a top 15 welterweight clash between Gunnar Nelson and Rick Story. Although not exactly chock full with today’s household names in MMA, we must not judge an event by it’s poster.
“Gunni” will look to make it 5-0 in the UFC, and 14-0 overall against the power-punching wrestler Rick “The Horror” Story. Featherweight contenders Max Holloway and Akira Corassani are scheduled to bash in the evening’s co-main event, Ilir Latifi takes part in a light-heavyweight tilt with Jan Blachowicz, and the Fight Pass main card is rounded off with Niklas Bakstrom vs Mike Wilkinson at 145 pounds.
