UFC 183 Prelims Live Results: Miesha Tate Wins Comeback Over McMann

ufc 183 live streaming

UFC 183 goes down tonight in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the former UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva headlining opposite Nick Diaz. With such a quality packed main card, it’s easy to miss how decent the preliminary card is.

The featured bout is a pivotal women’s bantamweight bout between former title contenders Miesha Tate and Sara McMann. Does anybody else miss the walk-ins on the preliminary card? Hard shots by McMann to start the fight, “Cupcake” responds well though. She rocks Tate now with a huge right, and McMann looking to finish, MT survives though. McMann is just riding her hard to end out the round.

McMann opens round two with a head of steam, landing that big right hand and now knees to the bread basket. McMann thoroughly outboxing Tate here, rushing her with hard shots. Tate goes for the neck, it looks tight as hell, looks like a single-arm now though, she should go for an inverted neck crank but it’s too late. Great round! It could all be on the last round here.

Big throw to open the round by McMann, but Tate reverses very quickly. Just total top control for Tate, as she switches from side control to crucifix and to half guard. A great comeback win for “Cupcake”, after nearly being knocked clean in the opener. Tate by majority decision.

Ed Herman takes on Derek Brunson at 185 pounds, Brunson lands early and Herman is down, he pours it on and the ref stops it. Great first round TKO for Brunson as he finishes quick, and it all began with a right-left combo.

Flyweights Ian McCall and John Lineker will also throw down, as “Uncle Creepy” looks to put away an overweight “Hands Of Stone”. McCall comes out dancing, Lineker is patient. Many low kicks from “Uncle Creepy”, and Lineker is having trouble landing anything and gets taken down hard. Good g’n’p from McCall as he easily dominates the opener. McCall gets careless and very nearly succumbs to a tight choke in round two.

This is really turning in to a war as they brawl on the ground, unintentional head butt by McCall, huge power punches by “Hands Of Stone” and he is able to stuff the takedown attempts better this round. More exchanges on the feet in round three as McCall dances and Lineker bangs. “Uncle Creepy” is just so fast it’s crazy, but Lineker catches him, now McCall blasts him back, what a fight! They brawl toe-to-toe and McCall is bleeding all over. Lineker taunting that he has a belly, kind of a dick-move. Awesome fight, UD for Lineker.

Rafael Natal battles Brit Tom Watson at middleweight, they trade low kicks early on and scramble wildly. Natal actually getting the better of the striking exchanges here, “Kong” looking sore around the ribs. Huge swelling on Watson’s right foot looks nasty, Natal really starting to find a home with his punches and kicks. Watson responds though and makes the second round very gritty. Natal just looking a lot sharper and accurate, but unable to get the finish. Natal by UD

Ildemar Alcantara takes on Anderson Silva’s team mate Richardson Moreira at 185 pounds, and it was a bit of a slow starter. Moreira started to unload, but Alcantara was quick to clinch up. Toquinho in the corner of Moreira, Greg Jackson with Alcantara. Good combos by Alcantara in round two, but it’s slow. Bit of a sluggish effort from Moreira, a fence grab from Alcantara, meh. SD for Alcantara.

Andy Enz and Thiago Santos open the Fight Pass card, and it was the Brazilian who loaded up with hard Muay Thai strikes early. He rocked Enz with some huge punches against the fence, and this was over before it started! Quick TKO for Santos.
