Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson added to UFC on FX 6 in Australia

5656710883 b96938d69bA Lightweight bout between Ross Pearson (13-6 MMA, 5-3 UFC) and George Sotiropoulos (14-4 MMA, 7-2 UFC) will be part of the recently announced UFC on FX 6 event. The two have been opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. U.K, also known as TUF: TheSmashes.

Pearson and Sotiropoulos will be featured on the televised main card with Hector Lombard vs. Rousimar Palhares as the headliner. Finals for the show will be part of the main card. The event is scheduled for December 15, but will air live in the U.S. on December 14 due to the time difference, in Australia. The city and venue have yet to be determined, but may be either Brisbane or Melbourne.

debuts Sept. 19 on FX in Australia, and the show is available on tuf.tv for the rest of the world.

Sotiropoulos was a cast member on TUF 6, and started his career with a 7-fight win streak. However, he is coming off two back-to-back losses to Rafael dos Anjos and Dennis Siver. His future with the promotion may hinge on the outcome of this fight.

Pearson was the Season 9 winner of The Ultimate Fighter. The British fighter dropped from 155 pounds to Featherweight, following a loss tp Edson Barboza at UFC 134. In the lighter class he earned a win over Junior Assuncao and a loss to Cub Swanson. He returned to 155 following the loss to Swanson.
