Ronda Rousey On What Sets Her Apart From The Rest Of Her Division: I Work Harder Than Them

Since her arrival in the UFC, in November 2012, Ronda Rousey has evolved into one of the biggest stars of the worlds largest MMA promotion.

“Rowdy” is now 10-0 in her professional career with all of her ten wins coming by stoppage, nine of the ten in the very first round. She’s considered to be the most dangerous woman on the planet and UFC president Dana White has even gone as far as to say Rousey would even best undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather in a street fight.

With that said, her dominance has been downplayed in recent months by some critics who say Rousey hasn’t been facing the highest level of competition. The champion doesn’t agree with that statement, she feels it’s her ability to work harder than all the other women and that’s why there’s such a huge gap between them:

“The one thing that sets me apart from all these girls is that I work harder than them.”

Rousey compares herself to “Iron” Mike Tyson in his heyday when he was one of the most deadly fighters on the planet.

“Mike Tyson had some serious competition too, don’t forget. It wasn’t always easy,” Rousey said via MMAFighting.com. “People knew from those fights to get there immediately.”

The 27-year old is well known for her elite grappling skills which aided her in submitting her first eight professional opponents with her signature armbar. But, she’s mixed things up in her most recent bouts with vicious knockout victories over Sara McMann and Alexis Davis.

Rousey thinks it’s that unpredictability which has gathered her so much attention.

“You never know what’s going to happen in one of my fights, either. That’s the advantage I have over my opponents and what draws the fans in so much. From the second my fight starts to the second it’s over, nobody sits down.”
