It appears that UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is taking the comments about her perceived lack of standup skills seriously. Employing former bantamweight boxing champion Vic Darchinyan, the champ is contstantly looking to add new facets to her game. The two spar courtesy of Fight Hub TV, and Darchinyan had high praise for Rousey.

While Darchinyan held the huge advantage in the striking department, he admitted that Rousey threw him around when they grappled. Rousey’s boxing does seem to be coming along nicely as an extension of her already aggressive game. Will this training help Rousey deal with the effective striking of Cat Zingano?

I would love to see Rhonda actually use her stand-up skills in a fight. We all know how good she is on the ground and she looks just as good on her feet…I'd like to see her use it.

As Rousey's striking keeps improving, it's gonna be VERY VERY VERY hard for anyone to beat her. Nobody is f*ckin' with her on the ground, so the sharper her striking gets, the smaller the window of opportunity for anyone to beat her gets and the chances were already SLIM! Cause her olympic judo background helps her to get anyone on the ground whenever she feels like it.

Her striking looks decent but she still looks like she hesitates a lot when getting hit.
It's a habit that can be broken with a lot of practice or something that stays for life, Michael Bisping and Cain Velasquez still get it a bit.

All she needs it for is too back up her opponent or at least stop them from charging her. If she can do that then it will let her get in the clinch and do her thing.

Her striking is below average at best.

I'm willing to bet, this is actually for Cyborg. Expect crappy excuses until Ronda gets her stand up game together and it's rock solid.

She's training for Kat I'm sure. But it's not a far stretch to assume she's doing everything she can to prepare for her super fight thats sure to come if she keeps winning.

Really? Training for Kat by practicing on her striking?? No sh*t.

Rhonda is awesome, but we have never seen her get rocked. We know more about what Rhonda looks like semi naked than we do about her ability to take shots.

You don't find out whats in a fighters heart until they face massive adversity….Take Meisha tate….I love that girl ! gets caught in arm bar and doesnt tap…gets punished with knees and won't quit…..

good that she is working on it but kat`s and cyborgs striking is on a whole different level!
