Poll: Who Deserves The Next UFC Featherweight Title Shot?

191 Conor McGregor vs Diego Brandao.0 standard 730.01

We may have seen the best-ever version of former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar in the main event of last night’s (Sat., November 22, 2014) UFC Fight Night 57 from Austin, Texas, where “The Answer” battered and bloodied formerly surging contender Cub Swanson with a one-sided ground display before finishing the fight with only four seconds left.

The win put Edgar close to a rematch with featherweight champion Jose Aldo, whom he faced and lost to at UFC 156 in February 2013. “The Answer” not surprisingly thinks that he should be next in line for a second title shot, but of course the presence of No. 5-ranked Conor McGregor always looms large.

If “Notorious” can get by Dennis Siver in the main event of January 18’s UFC Fight Night 59 from Boston, he could easily leapfrog Edgar and face Aldo sometime in the spring or summer.

Edgar has won three straight over Charles Oliveira, B.J. Penn, and now Swanson, and McGregor is 4-0 in the promotion with wins over Marcus Brimage, Max Holloway, Diego Brandao, and Dustin Poirier. McGregor also has the trump card of being quite possibly the biggest star in MMA right now, and he’s also never faced “Junior.”

With all those dynamics factoring in, whom do you believe deserves the next UFC featherweight title shot?
